The TTRRL is an independent organisation created to provide a cost effective programme of competitive cycle races in the north east of England, and Scotland.

Races operate on an age and ability level. This could be based on ages under and over 40 with extra age categories as the organiser sees fit, with the option of novices and or out of shape riders moving to an older aged category and riders with greater fitness moving to a younger aged category. Junior riders from 16 – 18 years would be within the over 40 age group. Females can compete with men in an older age category, or within their own category.

Races may be ran as a handicap system, where by the faster riders are started after the other groups.
